The Sprinkle Wedding

Posted on

May 19th was a beautiful day.  For me, it began at 2 am when I woke up to catch an early morning flight from NYC to Charlotte to shoot a wedding.  This was my first time shooting a wedding (and I didn’t know what I was doing *shhhhh*).  I recruited my 16 year old sister to be my second shooter and on the plane ride, I watched videos titled “how to shoot a wedding”.  I landed and was greeted by the warm, sweet faces of my family, some of whom I hadn’t seen in six months.  We drove to waffle house and enjoyed pecan waffles and hash browns, a sweet change from the typical brunches I had enjoyed in the city.  Sophs, my sister, and I drove from there to the wedding venue and stopped at Starbucks for a few minutes so I could teach her how to “second shoot” (lol).

The wedding venue was STUNNING.  Exposed brick, windows, greenery… what more could anyone want??  The day was tiring, but so so rewarding.  I got to see a girl I knew since elementary school get married to the love of her life.  No lie, I was crying during the ceremony… and while editing the shot of her mother watching her get into the car after the wedding.  I am just a sucker when it comes to love.  All this to say is that I am so so proud of this film and I rarely feel that way about the things I make!  I am so excited for this beautiful couple and I feel so lucky that I got to be a part of their special day!

Let me know what you think of the film!

  1. Marina- this makes me want you even more for Laura’s wedding! You are truly talented. Please let me down easily if you can’t do it. My heart will need several months to regroup and find someone else
